💬Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between household and voter export?

Household export is based on voter's mailing address and has formal salutation column should you use for a mailer. Voter export is a list of individual voters based on their voter registration address. Sometimes mailing and voter address can differ (i.e. college student has a different mailing address than where they are registered to vote).

What is a random sample export?

Random sample export allows you export a sample list of voters and weight the list based on different demographics (age, modeled party, ethnicity, registered party, and sex). This feature is primarily used for pollsters! See this article for more details.

Can I use a downloaded list for a paper walk book?

Yes! A downloaded list is the best way to provide a paper walk list for volunteers that request it. You can edit the CSV file to sort by street.

I am using my Apple Computer and Safari won't download a CSV.

Safari has stricter downloading permissions and won't let you as easily download a CSV. To fix this, right click the link to save as a CSV. You can also check out this apple support article.

I'm getting an error message and my list filters keep disapearing.

Remember to select Save after you have selected your filters and before you attempt an export!
