Text compliance is easy with Numinar. This article provides a check list of must haves to help you stay compliant!
✔️Must have "Do Not Text" in lists, Name Attribution, and OPTOUT language. See below!
🚫Do Not Text
Step 1/2: Select the "Do not text" tag in filters
Use the do not text filter in lists when making a text project. This ensure you aren't messaging voters who have previously opted out of receiving messages from your campaign.
Step 2/2: Select "no data"
"No Data" indicates you are selecting votes who have NOT opted out. The true column is the voters who did optout.
📲Name Attribution and OPTOUT Language
Step 1/1: Include name attribution and OPTOUT language
For texts, you must include name attribution (who the message is from) and optout language. The image below gives an example, name attribution is at the beginning of the message indicating it's from the Ronald Reagan campaign and the end of the message has "Reply OPTOUT to unsubscribe."
💡Tips: Sending test messages is very important! Carriers can sometimes flag what they believe to be suspicious texts, a lot like a spam filter. This can result in unreceived test messages. To prevent being flagged, try to avoid the following:
Embedded links, especially from public URL shorteners like “bit.ly”, “tinyurl.com”
Lack of variance among texts
Instead, try using {first_name} in the greeting line to automatically utilize the voters name when available
Too many capitalized words (ex. MAKE SURE YOU VOTE TOMORROW)
Not Utilizing Cell Phone Reliability Scores
Too many bad numbers can flag outreach for carriers, by filtering low cell reliability scores you can actively ensure you are contacting the most reliable numbers while also shaving down on your bill!
